We focus on our ability to give owners options when it comes to their pet’s care. Our mission each day is to put you at ease by caring for your pets with the same respect we give our own; by being a source of security and helping when you and your pet need it most.

Medical Director

Dr. Usiak

With extensive training in emergency veterinary medicine as well as previous experience as a veterinary nurse, Dr. Usiak is well prepared with both the medical expertise and compassion required as an urgent care veterinarian.

“I want to be an advocate for those who don’t have a voice and be a source of security and help when a family and their pet need it,” - She says of her commitment to providing exceptional care. With a special interest in teaching and training veterinary students in the field of emergency medicine, Dr. Usiak has acted as a veterinary student coordinator and mentor while communicating with international veterinary colleges. When she isn’t providing urgent care for pets, Dr. Usiak can be found spending time outdoors with her family kayaking, hiking, and biking.

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Asadorian

Hi! I’m Dr. Asadorian. A New England native (Go Sox!), who I made the leap across the pond to attend veterinary school at the Royal Veterinary College in London. Seeking to escape the snow and cold, I eventually found my way to Phoenix—and I’ve loved it ever since! My background is in Emergency Medicine, but in recent years, I’ve gained experience in shelter medicine and home euthanasia/hospice care. I am also certified in Veterinary Acupuncture with a special focus on hospice and palliative care. My passions include geriatrics, surgery, and of course, cats! When I’m not working, I enjoy traveling, cooking, crafting, and spending time with my dogs, Chelsea and Devlin.
Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Kulkarni

Hi, I’m Dr. Kulkarni. I graduated with my Doctorate from Colorado State University and completed an ER internship at the Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson, which was the beginning of my wildest dreams coming true; becoming a dedicated veterinarian! My journey has taken me through the heart of Scottsdale, where I gained a wealth of experience handling a variety of emergency and urgent cases.

When I’m not in the clinic, you can find me with a camera in hand, capturing the beauty of landscapes and wildlife while enjoying my travels around the world. My love for photography helps me see the world from a unique perspective, just like how I approach each case in veterinary medicine.

In the clinic, wounds and toxicity cases are my favorite things to treat—I guess you could say I have a reputation for being a bit of a detective when it comes to solving these complex puzzles. At East Valley Urgent Pet Care, I’m committed to providing the best possible care for every pet. I strive to turn every situation into the best possible resolution, even if it means navigating through some blank spaces along the way.

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Pederson

Hello! I’m Dr. Pederson, and I’m thrilled to be part of the East Valley Urgent Pet Care family. My path started with a BSE in biomedical engineering, but my true passion led me to Colorado State University for my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. I’m particularly interested in internal medicine and love the challenge of diagnosing and treating complex cases. I also dedicate part of my time working at a low-cost clinic, where I provide essential care to those in need and stress the importance of preventative measures. At home, I’m kept busy by my three dogs, a cat, and the cutest little hedgehog! When I’m not at work, you’ll find me embracing the great outdoors, whether that’s camping, hiking, paddleboarding, or kayaking—anything that gets me exploring!

However, I'd rather be waving peanut butter in front of snouts.

Certified Veterinary Technician

Kristina

Hi, I’m Kristina! I’ve always had a deep love for animals, but my first love was a chicken, which I showed from a young age through college. I initially attended CSU Pueblo, aiming to become a veterinarian, but soon realized that I was drawn to the hands-on care of patients, where I could give them all the TLC they deserve. I graduated from Bel-Rea in Colorado as a Certified Veterinary Technician in 2014, then later became an LVT, transitioning to emergency medicine—a field that has fascinated me and helped me grow as a technician.

After many moves, my husband and I, along with our two dogs and our hedgehog, found ourselves in Arizona, where we fell in love with the desert. I started with EVUPC as a relief technician but after connecting with the amazing team and mission here, I happily joined as a part-time technician a few months later! When I'm not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, paddle boarding, visiting aquariums, or relaxing with a good book.

Veterinary Technician

Marin

My name is Marin, and I’m an Arizona native with years of experience as a veterinary technician. I absolutely love what I do! I have two cats—Zoe, who rules the house with queen-like energy, and Toulouse Jafar (TJ), who can be both sweet and sour. I originally earned a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Chemistry, but after some time, I realized that my true passion lies in veterinary medicine and helping foster the human-animal connection.

In my free time, I enjoy hiking and exploring nature, especially during Arizona's cooler months. I’m also a big music fan, love going to concerts, and I’m always up for trying new restaurants. Plus, I have a keen interest in investing. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry friends!

Certified Veterinary Technician

I'm Nicole, I'm a CVT and have been in this field for over 15 years. I love spending my time reading, watching movies, crocheting, hiking, and working on puzzles. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats but that is always changing.
